Educational
philosophy

LTCC teachers and administrators subscribe to an educational philosophy that it takes a village to rase a child. To that end, we uphold the conviction that effective child rearing requires strong partnerships between children, parents and staff. In establishing these relationships, we value and emphasize open communication between the Center and families. We therefore, endeavour to create an environment in which all interested parties feel safe to express themselves without fear of being judged or ostracized. We believe that self-esteem and self-confidence are major components of early education.

Because we cater to the family and not just the child, we encourage parents to ask questions regarding their child’s activity, nutrition, growth and development. Flexibility of the program and curriculum is important, whereas the needs of children are constantly changing and emerging. By forging strong relationships and staying in constant communication, we believe that we can build a strong rapport with each child in our care.

Understanding that our society requires individuals to be proficient academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, we integrate each of those components into our programs and curriculum. Equally important, we celebrate the fact that children learn through their play. Therefore, we embrace the philosophy that learning can and should be fun
